The Brief

Worcester Film Festival is back again this October after a fabulous launch in 2021. This year they are keen to include all sorts of art mediums in the festival to show case different peoples perception and inspiration of films.

Alongside creative advocate Artists Clubhouse they are launching a competition to create a piece of two dimensional artwork that is inspired by your favourite film. This piece of artwork can be created in any art style, whether it is paint, print, crayon or photography but the final piece will need to be submitted in a high resolution digital format and be portrait in orientation; this could be a photograph or scan of the original artwork if it is not already a digital file.

Remember we want to be able to show all artwork sent so make sure the final piece is PG friendly as it will be seen by people of all ages, the film that inspires your work does not need to be PG however.

You can find out more about the film festival at www.worcesterfilmfestival.co.uk

The Prize

15 selected entrants will be chosen to have their artwork displayed in shop windows across the town centre of Worcester, UK in the run up to the film festival. 3 winners will also be chosen to receive full access passes to the whole of the film festival as well as having their artwork displayed at the event from 12th-16th October 2022.

Submission Requirements

Please submit your artwork by 26th August 2022. Any submissions after the deadline cannot be included.

This submission should be a digital format in a portrait orientation. If your artwork is not digital originally then it will need to be scanned or photographed at a high resolution setting such as 600 dpi or above and then sent via WeTransfer or a similar application to avoid the image resolution being effected when sent via email.

When you send your work please also tell me in the email what you wish to call your art piece, what film it is inspired by and a short description. Along with your name and social media contacts or website.

All ages are welcome to submit for this competition but please be aware that not all events or films shown at the festival will be appropriate for children.

The winners will be chosen by members of the Worcester Film Festival committee along side Artists Clubhouse after the closing date. All artwork submitted will get featured on Artists Clubhouse social media pages even if they are not chosen as one of the winning 15.

How to Enter

Please send entries to emily@artistsclubhouse.com before or on the deadline of 26th August 2022. Please also feel free to contact if you need any help or advice before hand.

By entering you give permission for your artwork to be shown through social media and to be displayed in Worcester city centre by both Artists Clubhouse and Worcester Film Festival.

You still own the copyright of your artwork and can use or sell it as you wish.

Please do not try and send original copies of any artwork created, if you do send anything we cannot take responsibility for it.

There is no funding for creating artwork for this competition so please do not spend large amounts of money on any work created unless that is something you want to do for yourself.

Prizes are not transferable and have no cash exchange value.
