It's a jungle out there...especially for a new business!! We are asking you to help them stand out from the crowd.
Me and The Jungle Club have teamed up to bring you an exciting opportunity! They are looking for a design for the windows in their new Worcester store.
The shop sells house plants, succulents and cacti. The store itself has a welcoming feel with a mix of a bright navy blue walls and chip board shelving (a look I'm currently obsessed with), soon to be lit up by a fantastic neon light. Obviously the main feature is the plants, green and fresh everywhere you look, with a fantastic feel of a jungle.
To compliment the look and feel of the shop, owner Daley is looking for a window design to invite customers from the outside of the store with some clear and exciting art work.
The inspiration came from my wife really she encouraged us to do the shop. The name 'the jungle club' comes from my love of house music and going to raves. Also I want it to be like a jungle in here and people to feel like they are part of a community and a club. Which I think we have already done with all our lovely followers and the support we've had. You will always hear good music in the shop and obviously they'll always be amazing plants.
The Project
Design some art for the front windows of The Jungle Club in Worcester. Submit your work to emily@artistsclubhouse.com by the closing date to be in with the chance of working with the shop to bring your art to life.
The owners are looking for art that reflects the shop and really draws customers in, they have also requested that you can still see in to the shop from the outside. There are 2 angled windows either side of a central front door, then with the main windows either side facing forward (see image below). This is a retail space so designs should be commercial and appropriate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for arty amateurs, hobbyists and people who love to doodle. This is an unpaid opportunity, supplies will be provided up to a certain cost and materials types may be limited due to the specifics of the building. We are in the process of working out the best materials which can be discussed at a later date.
Due to the nature of this being a retail space and an active shop the winner will need to be flexible to work with the shop owners to fulfil the needs of the business, design wise but also whilst work is being done. Ideally the chosen artist will be able to fulfil the installation of the art work but we understand the limitations due to personal commitments and also current Corona Virus restrictions. We will work with artists in this instance to create their vision remotely, this also opens the competition to non-local artists.
